say 'hi' to the bear!

The girls are finally in Bern, all in one piece. Bless the tape that holds those fragile ankles together. We should be especially grateful to have Afan there, because apparently she thought that this was a good idea:

I need to have a serious conversation with you, Ksyu. It's about the Olympics and my poor little fangirl heart that can't take a Russian disaster which you might cause with this sort of behavior. Stop it.

Aliya made an appearance in the training hall and Dasha took selfies in the bathroom while Seda, Melka and Afan were getting to know the natives aka a local bear.

So all is well for now, we'll see everyone tomorrow at the podium training.
-----
The juniors actually had their podium training today, but I haven't seen much, just a little bit of floor (okay) and beam (shaky).

They had at least one major change in their lineup, it looked like ZubZub was replaced with Sima on floor. Sima has a beautiful floor and good scoring potential, but I would have liked to see ZubZub's amazing routine too. It's so charming compared to most modern floor routines. Too bad they can't have all five gymnasts on floor.

Here's Simakova's podium training routine. I love her music and choreography plus her presence is nice too. And I like how cleanly she finished her split full. Just the right amount of rotation and none of that stumbling out of it or adding bad jumps after it nonsense that's so popular these days. The full in however looks terrible, hopefully she manages to clean it up a bit.

Based on the pictures they looked to be having fun and enjoying themselves, they are probably too young to remember that Russia hasn't lost the junior team gold in years.

Also, look at the leo they chose:

It reminds me of the good old days (2010), when Russia won everything.

I think Afan has worn the white version a few times...
