The Nabs is back!
Elena Eremina, Tatiana Nabieva's mini-me, actually followed in her teammates footsteps and brought back the Nabieva, the most difficult release move on the uneven bars. I don't think anyone has performed it in competition after Nabs herself, so hopefully Lena can integrate it in her routine in the future. The Russians really need a good daredevil to mix things up next quad, Princess Tut has been filling that role all by herself and performing under pressure is not her thing.
In other news, Nabs the Original has been hard at work training. I suspected originally that she was just trolling us, but apparently not. It looks like she is serious about Rio. The Rodionenkos already announced her retirement (without actually asking her if she was retired), so I don't think they'll take her. But if this back pain epidemic keeps spreading, who knows what will happen. And she still has one of the best DTYs in a team with very few DTYs.
I'm happy that she's still going strong and hope that she'll show up at the Russian Cup and kick some national team ass like at The Russian Championships this year. Everything is better when she and Aliya are together goofing around.
